THE BRIEF

Catalyst is a sales enablement cloud platform providing automated workflows and business insight and analytics to companies at the click of a button. Approached by the client to modernize a demo request landing page to improve readability, accessiblity, look and feel, and flow of information, they gave me creative liberty to expand on their new brand guidelines while reflecting their core identity: trust, authority, accessible, friendly, informative, and modern.

THE CHALLENGE

Sango Coral Life is a small business that sells portable coral calcium supplement sachets. The company promotes healthy holistic living through alkaline hydration.

Approached by the client to update her outdated WordPresss site's homepage, the project eventually broadened into a responsive multipage site with an e-commerce shop and an integrated affiliate program. Just days after the website's launch, sales increased and affiliate conversion rates improved dramatically.

Catalyst-Before-After-landing-page

At first glance, I noted a few things about the existing landing page:

  • It was extremely wordy and lacked imagery.
  • The "Get Started" CTA button didn't indicate what exactly would happen when they submit the form.
  • The CTA buttons were small and blended into the rest of the page.

As I read over the copy itself and delved a little deeper, I noticed quite a few opportunities to boost conversion rates and ensure GDPR compliance:

  • The headline wasn't customer-centric or engaging.
  • The landing page still had website navigation at the top, distracting website visitors from filling out the form.
  • It also had a footer with several links, again, creating unnecessary distractions.
  • The form was missing a GDPR checkbox.
  • The social proof was at the very bottom of the landing page.
  • The hierarchy of information could be improved.

With these things in mind, I researched competitors and started brainstorming new wireframes in Figma to create a more natural flow of information. Piggybacking off their new brand guidelines, I incorporated their new color palette throughout the landing page, lightening up the colors to appear more approachable and friendly. With some creative liberty, I proposed echoing graphic elements from their logo.

As you can see to the left, the original homepage's goal was lost in a sea of information and the 'Buy Now' buttons were more than halfway down the page. There was very little direction as to what the client wanted the visitor to do—purchase sachets.

My main goals were to streamline the pages, create clear visitor call-to-actions and to use the space above the fold to inform the visitor of the business's purpose through a design refresh.

I wanted the site's palette and imagery to reflect Sango Coral Life's identity, opting for clean calming blues.
